Holiday Trip Report

Today is the day after Christmas, I am off today and tomorrow and I am incredibly excited about it. Yesterday was a long day and I need the day off today to relax. Melissa and I exchanged presents on Christmas Eve and I got some good stuff. She got me Transformers, Superbad, The fist season of Heroes which is really awesome. I got some clothes and some other small things. I got her a ring, earrings and a necklace, in the past I was hesitant to do the whole jewelry thing but I did pretty good this year according to her.

The next morning we were up at 7AM to get ready to go up to Gainesville to have Christmas with her Grandparents. We took the dog with us because we were going to be gone all day long it would have been too long for her to stay in her crate. She was her normal self on the car ride, very hyper and all over the place. We opened presents with her family and then we ate. This is their first Christmas without her Dad so I was expecting it to be very emotional but it actually went pretty well. I got a few things at that Christmas, a robe, button down shirt and some money. They decided to not do a traditional Christmas dinner but instead have steak and baked potatoes, I couldn't argue with that at all.

We left there to go to Melissa's Grandmother's house which is across the highway from Gainesville but her Aunt was there and she is allergic to dogs. Bella and I sat in the car while Melissa ran in the house and said hello and explained that we were leaving to go to my family's Christmas. Melissa's dad is buried up there as well so we stopped by the grave site for Melissa, and the dog decided to get car sick. She puked in the car and it was luckily on the floor and not all over my lap. I held her and let her finish up while Melissa was visiting the grave site. Cleaning the dog up after that was a complete pain in the ass. We decided right then to board her someplace next year.

We went to my Mom's house to visit with them exchange presents and all of that. I gave Myra her presents and she really liked it, its a donkey that you can ride and it makes noises. I will post some pics later, I am too lazy right now. We hung out for a bit before bowing out to come home. It was an incredibly long day we finally made it home around 6:30 and after getting everything put away and changing into comfies I finally sat down on the couch about 7:15.

Christmas was so much easier when I was a kid just show up and open presents, now there is so much involved especially with being with Melissa her family has their traditions and mine does as well so there is a lot of planning involved in that. There is so much drama in my family and some in hers it can be such a headache trying to figure out how to plan it all out.

I have been playing a little poker and been doing OK. I am winning but I have a LONG journey back before I can take shots at 25NL again. I am going to be playing a heads up bracket style tournament starting in January. I am not going to really post much poker content until I get back to where I was, most of the play is bad and I am playing better than most of the other people at the table. In other poker news I am going to cancel my Cardrunners membership. I never watch the videos and they are so much higher than any level I am playing at. Basically the information is pretty much the same. be very aggressive in late position and don't stack off too lightly. I get more out of the forums, then I get from the site. There is another video site that I might check out but not until I am playing 25NL full time.

That is really it for now. I will make another post tomorrow.
Until later.
